We’d all like cheap hot tubs and that’s what I’m going to talk to you about today because if you play your cards right you can get away with finding a hot tub without spending an arm and a leg but you need to know a few different things before you begin down this treacherous path. I call it treacherous for several reasons which I will discuss as we go along.
When it comes to cheap hot tubs you basically have two or three options and I’m going to spend some time on all of them today. Some of them involve different types of tubs, some of them involve different prices for different types of tubs and there are some other things that you need to know as well, all of which I’ll get into in more detail.
The first option is to find a portable hot tub, and these are generally ones that you inflate with air and are only large enough for three or four people at most and generally don’t heat up quite as well and they just don’t work quite as well as a regular model but that nonetheless are fairly decent for the price. Generally speaking these cost from $400 up to $1000 and the cheaper the model the quicker they will wear out and the worse they work. You can even find some portable models for just $350 but they may not last a single season which is something you really need to keep in mind.
The next option is to purchase a regular hot tub but a smaller unit. I’m talking of course about a two-person tub which is really just like a regular bathtub only slightly larger and decked out with different jet options and heating controls. Now these come in a variety of different models and you can easily spend several thousand dollars on one of them if you’re not careful by adding lots of bells and whistles. But generally speaking you can find a serviceable two-person unit for under $1000 if you do some research on your own and are willing to install it yourself which is possible because these are smaller units.
Another option for finding inexpensive tubs is to purchase refurbished units from a dealer. We like to call these refurbished, but the fact of the matter is they are simply used tubs that have been returned to the store for any number of reasons. Sometimes they have been returned because of some defect that the dealer was able to fix on their own and then replace the model in the store and sell again. Other times a person elected to pay on an installment plan and couldn’t make the payments and so the dealer repossessed the hot tub. Think of these like storeroom models in an appliance store. Sometimes you can find incredible deals, but sometimes you just get a lemon.
The other main option for finding a cheap tub is to purchase them used from an individual. There are a number of different ways to do this from classified ads in the newspaper in your area to classified ads on the Internet, all the way up to auction websites such as eBay and others. If you follow this approach I recommend you buy from somebody near you because transportation costs are going to be prohibitively expensive so keep that in mind.
So there you have several different options when it comes to finding cheap hot tubs. I hope that you found my suggestions useful and can now venture forth on your own to purchase the hot tub that’s right for you that will fit your specific budget.
